Dr Mossman trained as a Neurologist in New Zealand. He then completed postgraduate training in London, where he worked at the National Hospital for Nervous Diseases Queen Square and Guy's Hospital.
He attained an MD research degree in neuromuscular disease at the Royal Free Hospital, London.
He now works at Wellington and Hutt Hospitals as a visiting Neurologist, as well as in his private practice.
He has a special interest in vestibular physiology and dizziness of inner ear origin, with continuing research and publications in this field.
Dr Mossman is a keen cyclist and has taken non professional cyclists on the Tour de France and Giro d' Italia. The benefits of physical exercise are increasingly recognised in scientific journals for both physical, cognitive and psychological wellbeing.
